SPARERIBS ORIENTAL


Combine:
                        1/ 3 C. soy sauce
                        1/ 3 C. gran. Sugar
                        1/ 4 tsp. onion salt
                        1 1/ 2 tsp. ground ginger
Pour over: 3 lbs. spareribs, cut into 2 or 3 rib portions.  Coat all sides and cover.
Refrigerate 2 hrs., turning occasionally.

Place spareribs on rack in shallow pan.(broiler pan).  Bake 1 1/ 2 hrs. at 325 or till done.  After cool, drain off excess fat.  Turn and baste with marinade.

Melt 2 Tbsp. butter in sauce pan and saute 1/ 4 C. slivered almonds.  Remove and drain on paper towel.  To the remaining butter, add 1 1/ 3 C. water and bring to boil.  Stir in 3/ 4 tsp. salt, 3 Tbsp. chopped raisins and 1 1/ 2 C. cooked rice.  Cover, remove from heat and let stand 5 min.  Add almonds and mix lightly with fork.  Arrange on platter, serve with ribs.
