SALT WATER TAFFY

SALT WATER TAFFY         winter only


Mix and boil to hard ball or even soft crack:
                                    1 1/ 2 C. light brown sugar
                                    1/ 2 C. light corn syrup
                                    1/ 2 C. water
                                    4 Tbsp. oleo
Add:                1/ 2 tsp. salt
                                    1/ 2 tsp. glycerine
                                    1 1/ 2 tsp. vanilla

Cool in well buttered pans till it can be handled.  Pull till light and brittle.  Roll into a rope and return to greased cooky sheets - well buttered.  Crack into bite sized pieces.  Keep cool and air tight.
