BUTTER CHOCOLATE CAKE

BUTTER CHOCOLATE CAKE


Cream for 9x9 cake:                                        9x13 cake
                        1 1/ 4 C. sugar             2 1/ 2 C.
                        1/ 2 C. butter                           1 C.
Add:
                        2 egg yolks, beaten                 4 yolks
Sift:
                        1 3/ 4 C. cake flour                 3 1/ 2
                        1 tsp. soda                               2 tsp.
                        1/ 4 tsp. salt                             1/ 2 tsp.
                        4 Tbsp. cocoa                          8 Tbsp.
Add dry  ingredients alternately with
                        1 C. milk                                 2 C.
Add:                1 tsp. vanilla                            2 tsp.
Fold in:            2 egg whites, stiffly beaten     4 egg whites

Bake as loaf or layers at 350
